as long as it's a quality paint job, I don't think it would decrease the value at all. I don't think people really care that much for "all original" with that specific car.

I am sorry the other people who have answered this probably cant even spell bonneville, If you want to change the color of the car then change it , I really dont think that the value will be affected much, as long as it is a factory color that was offered in 62'. Dont pick some off the wall oddball color. Make sure it is a quality job , Make the car look like it has never been re-painted
[ it can be done] And your car will climb in value for years to come

Depends. If they do a cheapo job, yes. If it's done correctly, it will cost you more than the car will EVER be worth.

Doing it correctly means removing all hardware and painting inside the trunk lid, door jambs, under the hood, and every OTHER place the original color is visible, as well as the body.

The value of a 1962 car?

The car is 44 years old.

Cars depreciate every year. I wouldn't give you a nickle for a 44 year old car regardless of what color you painted it.

is there rust on the car? if so, are you going to replace/repair the rusted parts? I hope you do, and do a high quality job, and use high quality paint. that is a sweet ride and worth a lot. worth even more if you do a good job.
