Look for macrame jewelry. michaels.com has lots of free patterns for all kinds of stuff you should be able to find a couple of how-to's there. or just try google or yahoo search for macrame jewelry or hemp jewelry.

It is super easy. You can get books on it at any store where you buy hemp. There are two very basic patterns - the flat one and the swirl. The swirl is easiest you just keep doing the knots on one side only. The flat front you alternate and go back and forth with your knots! Good luck! www.happyhippie.com suggests looking for macrame patterns as that will help you learn different knots. They could not come up with a good website, sorry =(
