Am I taking this too seriously? I'd like some opinions, please?

Okay, so my best friend (whom I do like A LOT, but he doesn't know) and I were talking last night and I asked him if he thought I should get green colored contacts and he said, "I thought you already have green eyes" and I was like, "Well, I do, but I want to see what they would look like if they were greener. But you're like the only one who even knows I have green eyes. Everyone else thinks I have brown eyes" and he said, "Well, that's because no one else pays attention". Okay, so not that big a deal, but this morning, he sent me a text explaining some stuff about why he might not be able to answer my call and then he was like, "Ya know I'm actually looking forward to church tonight :)! Ok ttyl". I don't know..I guess I just think it was a little strange. He normally doesn't say stuff like that. I feel so silly because it seems so dumb but I guess anything that even hints he might like me, makes me excited! Anyway, what do you think about it?(Please be nice with your answers!)

Also, I thought I might add the even though he calls me every day and texts me while he's at work and stuff, he usually doesn't say stuff like this.

he's definitely flirting. but don't jump the gun too soon. flirt back and take it slow. he's a friend and you don't want to mess it up by going too fast.
