I think that question should be asked in some circumstance, such as medical background . If I am asked that question and feel like it warrants an honest answer I will say Caucasian.

It shouldn't be a question as far as filling forms for employment, government etc... Who gives a crap, unless the GOP is looking for minority votes at any sneaky angle they can get.

I fill out "white" in the little box.

I am not "white". Snow is white. Blacks now have a box that say African American. SO technically, I need a box that says Angelo-Saxon American. I would say Caucasian, but then blacks would have to change to Negroe to be technically correct. For some reason blacks seem to get offended at anything that anyone calls them unless they call it themselves.

There are boxes that say Hispanic, Cuban Hispanic, etc.....

It never ends.

Honestly, I don't even think it should be asked. It is not a relevant question in most cases. But I guess it depends on the circumstances of why you are asking. On a job app,no! On a school app,no!!! I am a mix and who isn't these days. Try english, german and american indian.lol

I have not definite race. I'm Latin and therefore a combination of at least three races: Indian, Hispanic and African.

With so many trips and exodus of people, I think there's nothing such pure race.

When I worked in a loan department in a bank, I questioned that too. Then I found out, that information is used by regulating agencies to make sure that the banks aren't "red-lining" applicants.

In other words, they are making sure that banks aren't only loaning home purchase money to certain people for certain neighborhoods.

The motive is right, but I agree, it looks fishy unless you know why.
