i don't think we have to send them all home, all we have to do is go after the employer's in a serious way. no need for a big wall, they will go home on their own if they can't be employed. That being said, they are hard workers and i believe that we should have some way for some of them to become legal citizens.

I think it is a problem but there is also good from it. Such as that the baby boomers will soon need social secerity money and them working for us makes it easier for us to do that.

I think these guys are criminals. Why would you cross the border into a country and try to work when you know you broke the law. A law is a law and if you break it u pay for it. Now im not that mean. I do agree they are hard working citizens but they broke the law. I think we need to build a wall. I mean they won't listen. Also drugs are becoming a problem to. We need to build a big wall above and under ground so that they could not cross. The only way they can cross is through border patrol. They need to have background checks if they have one and to make sure they are just here for working and living in the united states, not to break that law and cause trouble to our great country.

They deserve to become citizens only if they did it the right way. We don't reward people here for doing the wrong thing. If they become citizens, what's to stop others from illegally coming here? We do need some type of reform but i don't think that making them legal is a way.

I think that we need to be stricter..I don't think it's fair to send people home who have been here for twenty years...especially if it means breaking up a family. That being said, I don't think that people who come here illegally do so to be Americans..they do so for the economics. That leaves no allegiance to our country, and a complete disrespect for our rules.
It would be impractical to sent all illegal immigrants home..but if they stay, they need to become citizens. Plain and simple. No driver's licenses, or other benefits of citizenry until they comply. Look at Mexico's laws on immigration...if we tried to go there illegally, you'd be out before faster than you could count to ten..in Spanish or English.

p.s. the companies that knowingly hire illegal immigrants need to be sanctioned...sent a serious message that this is NOT cool.

We may need a streamlined sytem for "geuest workers." There are those who want to become citizens, there are others who don't care, they just want some money. We DO need to be able to find these people. We now have too many who are here illegally, AND are criminals. This is going to take some kind of heavy duty vetting process. The first step is to plug the hole in the boat, then we can figure out how to bail...

Our immigration laws and policies don't seem to be working so yes they need to be looked at for reform. Are they fair?? They were developed a long time ago when the world and our allies were very different.

Well, we can't send them all back home because of the resources required. I mean, it would take a HUGE amount of money to locate and send 12 million illegals back.

We have to be practical and get them into the system. In time, their children will learn our system and be able to contribute.

I agree with going after these big companies hiring them. Than not paying them a decent rate all for the mighty illegally gained dollar.

Immigration should be addressed with employment and education so that those who venture to come will be given jobs and opportunities to have a better life.
