Use it to band a pair of socks together, this way you won't lose one and end up hopelessly waiting for it's return home from lostlaundryland, only to be bitterly disappointed and forced to make a puppet out of its mate. It would totally promote safe socks.

write your name on it and a secret message on it. go to a park or some place that you will go to again in the future:
someone's grave or a secret spot in your room or attic and dig or hide it some where. then it like 20 or more years you go and dig it up and remember when you where young and have some really nice memories of when you where young!! if your old then you can still hide it and when you die tell someone right when you think you about to pass and they will dig it up and have a fond memory of you.
