Ethics is the set of rules that governs the acts of men to be good while morality is the disposition to be good. Nursing is both a profession and vocation because it is a work that needs dedication to serve others. Be good at all times and you will be rewarded.

Ethics are a system of values derived from one's own, personal reflection and reasoning.

Morals are a system of values received from some source outside the individual, like from religious or political teachings.

"Profession" and "vocation" are very similar terms, as used by most people. It is unclear why you imagine any contradiction between them -- or why you have included this second, apparently unrelated question.

Nursing is a vocation that has gained accreditation and been renamed a profession through political correctness.
