I tried to spray it with bug spray, but it wasn't fazed, and it ran fast and far down the hall into my room. I ran to grab more spray and when I came back it had disappeared somewhere in my room. This is the largest and scariest spider I have ever seen, I can't get ahold of anybody to come help me. I'm so scared, what can I do?

Everyone, I can't thank you enough for your advice. You all helped me to think a little more clearly even though I was scared. I got my mom to come over to my house to help me (a little ridiculous for a 20 year old living on her own, I know...) Anyway, she brought a flashlight and we actually found it dead. Like many of you said, the initial spray was enough to kill it, it just wasn't going to happen right away. I didn't realize that... I though if it didn't drop dead right away, it wasn't working. It had shriveled up to about 1/10th of it's size behind a stack a magazines. My mom barely believed that it was actually as big as I said it was! Anyway, it's dead, I'm good, and now I've learned a little bit more about bug sprays and spiders. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH, ONCE AGAIN!!!

It will go in a corner and die somewhere if you sprayed it well. It sounds like a wolf spider. They are very very big. However, They are not dangerous spiders.

You will be waiting a long time for Animal Control.
If you sprayed it with bug spray its probably dead already.
The bug spray doesn't kill on contact.
The bugs just don't drop dead in their tracks.
I live in Seattle....
no snakes, driver ants, killer bees, or EL Chupacraba.
Got spiders.
None of them aggressive.
They ain't stalking us.
Don't know what to tell you.
If you're scared of spiders, you're scared of spiders.
Even the little tiny ones.

The bug spray will probably just take a little while to kick in. Get a magazine or newspaper in case it crawls out.

OMG you poor thing!! spiders scare the bajeezes out of me!! ok, first, get some high boots and some gloves and a huge boot, then go causiously into your room and once you find it... you know what to do... just make sure not to pick the shoe up afterwards, and if you have an older brother or your dad is around, drag one of them into your room and tell them to "GET THAT THING OUT OF HERE!!" Hope it helps!!Arigatou for my 2 points!

Usually the largest spiders aren't able to hurt you much, if at all. The ones to watch out for are the fiddlebacks and the other spider, can't remember it's name...

i think your soreness, heavily. ok so sparkling your room and in case you do not see a spider attempt spraying round your room with that computer virus killing spray stuff. leave your room, close the door and leave it for slightly. otherwise, assume that is gone. Spiders do not truly loaf round all that a lot besides. good success :)

this is coming from a fellow arachnaphobiac, WAIT FOR HELP! if you get in there and panic, it could bite you and if it is poisonous you could get seriously hurt. Call someone you trust to come, and wait for help or try a neighbor. Dont let your pride get the best of you

scream and run away. And don't go back into your room until you spray the whole room with bug spray and it suffocates =]
