I'm trying to decide with Sprint, Tmobile or Cingular...I don't use that much minutes but I'd like to know the experiences that others have had with these particular companies....

Here's a really quick opinion on different factors. You will have to choose what will best fit you and your lifestyle and needs.

Customer Service: Verizon and Cingular are noted to have better service. I have Verizon and I like the customer service and they will work with you if something happens to your phone if it is under warranty. My brother and family have Cingular for about 2 years and they love it too and won't change.

Cost-wise: I think money-wise T-mobile and Cingular tend to have lower costs with decent service.

"Cutting edge phones" Definately T-mobile! I have the (pay-as-you-go) for my son who doesn't use a lot of minutes and haven't had a problem with service either. T-mobile and Cingular have more GSM quad-band phones.

Network: In the US, T-mobile, Cingular and Verizon have relatively good networks. I believe T-mobile and Cingular "share" networks through some partnership. But, that always depends on where you live. You can compare those network maps

Sprint, in general, is lagging and behind the times. I've not heard much good about their service in the past. It may be different now (this past year), but again, haven't heard anything either way in the past year. Plus, the network is not as big as the others. Though, they do have a great "Push-to-talk" so if you are in close range to people you are in contact with and they also have Sprint, this would definately be cheaper. But beware that text messaging charges are high if you don't sign up for that feature with Sprint.

Things to consider.

Your usage and the plans they offer.

The coverage of the carriers where you live and the places you normally go (work, restaurants, friends' homes, etc). If you get crappy coverage, it doesn't matter how much the plan costs, etc. So, make sure you get good coverage and no dropped calls. Most carriers allow a certain trial period where you can return the phone, pay for what you've used and cancel the contract. Make sure you have that option before you sign with anyone. If you get crappy coverage, cancel and try the next carrier. Stick with the one you find that offers you the best.

Your probability of moving within the city, or to elsewhere. If you are likly to move a lot and frequent enough, make sure you don't sign a contract or end up paying penalties to cancel if you move elsewhere. Also, the coverage may be crappy in your new place when it was excellent where you were before.

If you can avoid it, don't sign a contract. Get prepaid instead so that you can still place and receive calls without paying a lot.

And, if possible, get a GSM carrier instead of CDMA, because if you get a phone from a CDMA carrier, you are stuck only using that phone on that carrier and no one else. With GSM phones, if you get it "unlocked", you can use that phone on any other GSM carrier in the world, provided your phone supports the local network signals. That may also be a consideration.

Cingular has very few dropped calls and you get alot of minutes and its not that much.

Sprint/Nextel has mobile-to-moblie calling to other Sprint/Nextel customers. It also has a free in-coming all plan where you don't use your minutes if the person calls you.(This is not that much at all)

Verizon has very good service.(that's about all I know)

T-Mobile from what I've heard is not that good unless you get the family plan(but if you do :every one has to share 1500 minutes no matter how many people there are)

I hope that helps

That all depends on where you live. I have cingular and I like it, but espite their "more bars in more places" slogan, I am regularly disappointed. I think overall I have heard the least complaints with Verizon.

Ask your friends what service they use and who provides the best service. Most companies offer free mobile to mobile calls as long as they are the the same provider.

I use Verizon, the signal is the best in New Jersey. Almost all the people I call have verizon as well so I don't get charged for the minutes.

I had Verizon and they sucked. I've been with Nextel/Sprint now for awhile and I love them. I can't think of any complaints.
