She was Greek from real Macedonia in Greece (not from Slavic-Macedonia.)
Her full name was Cleopatra VII Philopator (in Greek:Κλεοπάτρα Φιλοπάτωρ; January 69 BC – August 12, 30 BC), later her name became Cleopatra Thea Neotera Philopator kai Philopatris,{ "Cleopatra" is Greek for "father's glory," and her full name, Cleopatra Thea Philopator kai Philopatris, means "the Goddess Cleopatra, the Beloved of Her Father and lover of her country"} She was the last queen of Ptolemaic Egypt, the last member of the Ptolemaic dynasty and hence the last Hellenistic (Greek) ruler of Egypt.
It is important to know that although she was a Greek by language,culture, and origin, Cleopatra is reputed to have been the first member of her family in their 300-year reign in Egypt to have learned the Egyptian language. As it was common for the upper clash and the royal family to speak only Greek!
{A lot of people confuse the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia or Macedon (which was the birth place of Alexander) with the modern state of Makedonija (or FYROM or Slav Macedonia as they are not related at all). The confusion has started a few years ago because that small state started to use the name “Republic of Macedonia” causing a great confusion with real Macedonia in Greece.}

she was greek Cleopatra" is Greek for "father's glory," and her full name, Cleopatra Thea Philopator, means "the Goddess Cleopatra, the Beloved of Her Father." She was the third daughter of the king Ptolemy XII Auletes, probably born to her fathers sister, making her third in line to rule after her two other sisters died. When Cleopatra VII ascended the Egyptian throne, she was only 18. She reigned as Queen Cleopatra and Pharaoh between 51 and 30 BC, and died at the age of 39 from the venom of an asp.

She was Greek. I believe she also was blonde and blue-eyed. She was a remarkable woman. Very brave but also doomed. She was very well educated for the times. I think she spoke about five languages. Very ruthless as well.
