could anyone tell me how to milk a goat my husbands aunt said you milk the whole sack I was raised in Chicago and know nothing about it but it don't look possible to me

yes, you milk the whole sac. your aunt is right. goats milk is really good for you also, although it does take an aquired taste. kind of strong.

You milk a goat from behind. It is not necessary to milk the whole sac. Gravity will make the milk lower to the teats. Placing your hands around the teats, using one hand at a time squeeze and pull down on the top of the teat, middle and bottom, in kind of a smooth rolling motion. Repeat with other hand. Use each hand alternately.

don't *pull* - the goat will not stand for long. You can milk from the side or behind. I prefer from the side. Unless her teats are real big - squeeze the thumb and top finger together at the base of the teat and udder. (this traps milk in the teat). Squeeze 2-3-4 fingers to squeeze the milk out. Continue doing this until the udder is empty. "bump" it then milk the rest out.
