Too good for them, not enough commercials, not enough stimulating fouls and dunks and touchdown dancing. Sigh... poor souls.

Todays match is a prime example.Too much square passes especially by Portugal.Albeit the French defense had something to do with this.People from the states have never played the game, for example, and do not understand how difficult it is to score. And seeing the match on television is a poor substitute for being there. And there are many other sports that hold the interest far more than football for Americans. This does not mean that Americans are backward or ignorant, they just are used to seeing different sports, and it takes a while to acquire a taste for another sport.

My brother whines (all through the game yesterday between Germany and Italy while I was trying to hear it in Spanish), that it's too slow and there aren't enough goals. I kinda like it, though I prefer to watch it in Spanish. There's nothing like "GGGGGOOOOAALLL!" It's easier to watch than American football and I think it's faster. There's too much waiting around in American football, too many special teams....I think soccer could be a little rougher as when my dad played back in the 40s and 50s. You had to do something pretty bad to get a red card and be put off the field. (There weren't any yellow cards.)

poster pj m do ou have your head stuck in the sand? No team work???? boy you must be blind...

if any sport is boring is tennis, nascar...

basketball is always with the running back and forth more than soccer..

American football makes no sense hand the ball to teamate, teamate runs INTO opposing team rather than run around them..

To the person asking the question the first two posters hit the nail on the head as to why people dislike soccer

sorry im one of those soccer haters, its the mono-movement, back and forth, back and forth, yawn like tennis, people hate the scoring 1-0 is a good game, that sucks a$$, boring. its not a complex sport. very indvidualistic, no sense of team work, and it doesnt involve anything more then your feet and body. YAWN
