'Tuning' is one of those ever present and regurgitated buzz words that detract from the original intention of the tune. Tuning is nothing more than the subtraction of all non-necessary non-performance parts from a given car, some having to do with weight reduction, and adding parts or mods to gain every possible ounce of torque and horsepower without completely building a different car; also the tuning of the car's computer, which is a comparatively cheap mod with comparatively cheap results.

Buy a Chilton or Haynes manual for the car you own if you haven't already. Start small and have your child watch and assist if they can do so free of danger. Also take note that it is extremely dangerous to improperly jack up a car, especially on soft earth where it may or may not have just rained. Use a paved surface and read as much as you can about whichever install or mod you choose before attempting.

My best advice is to buy a car that needs some work and fix it yourself. If it's power you want go for muscle right from the start. As fast as rice can be, even with turbo or a supercharger, it'll never catch a Firebird, Camaro, or Mustang with the same. Start from the top with an old junker, not from the bottom with something new and loaded with cumbersome technology.

Hi there! I don't know too much about import tuning, my fascination is with the older muscle cars but try checking out www.importtuner.com and other enthusiast car sites on the web that might help. If you find anything good, let me know, I have a teenager that is into the imports and am currently trying to teach him how to work on cars. Good luck!!!

Im a tuner... And love it. Regrettably I don't have the tools to do a variety of my tuning so I have got to take it to a location and get it achieved, or get neighbors to help out and convey instruments over. In the procedure of tuning up my 350Z... Ready on getting a rapid for it. However alternatively stay up for just a few years more to get less expensive and better rapid!

Im a tuner... and adore it. Unfortunately I wouldn't have the gear to do plenty of my tuning so I must take it to a position and get it performed, or get peers to support out and deliver gear over. In the system of tuning up my 350Z... ready on getting a faster for it. But instead stay up for a couple of years extra to get less expensive and higher faster!

My advice? Find a tuner shop in the area and volunteer your time! Offer to help with all their ***** work and I'm sure they will be more then willing to help teach you a few things. I had a friend volunteer some time at a local engine shop by my house and he just finished his 11 second Caprice.
