Well, hello there. I am a Apple video iPod user but I bought the Creative Microphoto for a family member as a birthday gift. I borrow it at times and I upload and charge the microphoto for my family member as they are not very knowledgable when it comes to electronics. So when I went to Best Buy I saw the Zen and the gigabeat. I asked the sales consultant about features and etc. The microphoto has a much better resolution for phtos and overall display. Its more practical in size, it has a radio which you can record songs right off it. it has a built in microphone. It can be used as a removable storage like a USB flash drive and it is very easy to upload the songs on. the gigabeat uses microsoft media software to upload songs. Im not that familiar with it but I know that the Zen microphoto has a faster microdrive than the gigabeat as well as a much better battery life, its battery life is much much better than even my own iPod video. I compared the sound quality with my iPod and the creative Microphoto won hands down. Also the Micro photo has the feature of deleting, such as deleting songs you dont want or any pictures right off the player without using a CPU. Also the zen has a usb 2.0 connector which is very universal. Also the Microphoto has 8 Gb of stirage aand a size that is close to the anaos, except for its width, while the gigabeat is fairly long but thin.Next time I get a mp3 player I will go with Zen as i like it better than my IPod video( Which is only good for Videos). So if you want to go for practiblity, size, quality and features, I would go for the Microphoto. If you want alot of space go for the gigabeat. If your going for storage space, why not try the Zen 30 GB player or the Apple video. But for price, the Zen is a deal. I got it for $230 USD +tax, but now it dropped to $199 at Best Buy. the gigabeat is 250 I believe, I heard that Toshiba discontinued it thats why its being selled for a good price. So bottom line, I would go with Creative Zen Labs Microphoto. I hope this helped.
