sometimes their pupils dilate or they flush because they subconsciously know that what they're doing is wrong. it varies from person to person. sometimes shiftiness or jumpiness is what gives it away. but then there are those people who can lie without anything giving them away.

There are several key characteristics that tell if a person is under duress while speaking. These vary between people and personalities. You can never be 100% sure if a person is lying, but you can get a good idea if they aren't being honest with you. Personally I am very good at lying. Eye contact is your best bet if you want to avoid detection.

Ask the same question in intervals...like every 30 minutes...that's how I found out my husband was lying. Also if someone is lying, the story normally changes a bit...in the attempt to satisfy the curiosity of the person who is asking questions. You gotta have a good memory, though..to realize the change in the story. Also: if you know the person like the back of your hand... you will see subtle changes in his/her way of communicating.

You can read a person's face, by asking questions and listening to the answers. You may ask same question in two different ways, and comparing the answer.
It also depends upon what you are trying to find out and from whom.
But inconsistant answer gives you hint of a lie.
Too much flattering or bragging might mean a lie.
When some one tells of something hard to believe, it may be a lie.

Often, when people are lying, they have a tendency to shift their eyes up and to the right. It is a physical manifestation of you accessing the cortex of your brain that controls creativity. A lie is merely a creative answer.

You don't. You have to live with uncertainty.
There are techniques for determining truth --and -- if you learn them, you can only use them on suspects or those you don't know personally. Because if you use them at home, you will drive loved ones away from you.

The eyes have it. They are the gateway to the soul. Body language tells alot too. Nervous acting, changing story, follow your instincts. If you feel like it's a lie, may very will be.

if you look them in their eyes while they are telling you their pupils will dialate! or you can see it through they way they are telling you usually if it makes since it is tru but if you turn it around and it doesn't they are lying! and if they are good liars they will soon tell you the truth because many people can't live with the guilt!

Look closely at their face. If you see any movement of the mouth, they are lying.
