Absolutely. They're sport seats - a lot more firm and supportive than "regular" car seats. On long trips, you don't get fatigued or tired, and they really hold you in place during aggressive driving. They have large side bolsters, which really wrap and hold the driver. The upgraded seats have adjustable lumbar support, which is worth the money. A unique feature is the adjustable seat length - the length under your thigh can be extended. I had a B5 S4 (2002), and those seats are nice, but the M3 seats are fantastic.
As far as height, I'm 6'0", and I have a couple inches clearance. No one under about 6'6" will have an issue.

Oh yes. I'm considering buying here in the next few weeks. My local dealer let me have the M3 for 2 days. Very nice car with all the necessary appointment where they should be. I am also looking at the Audi S4. The Recaro seats are much nicer, I could see long distances being better in the Audi personally. Tough call. But the beemer is so much more responsive.

100% perfect on my 02 M3. No need for aftermarket seat. Recaro and Sparco racing seats are more for track use. they are light = uncomfortable.

Very. But, the car was designed for people up to and not exceeding 5'10". Anything over that and the car seats can become quite uncomfortable.
