Don't let smart-aleck people discourage you, sweetheart. I think it's great that you have an interest in something other that videogames and the opposite sex. Check out NASA in your area. Go online to the local NASA website and find out about summer programs for High School students. My sister did the program in Cleveland Ohio and she learned a lot about topics like engineering. You may also get PAID to be a part of the program!

There are many kinds of engineering, you need to figure out which kind you want to do first.
According to the "National Society of Professional Engineers" there are 19 types.
Aerospace, agruculteral, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, control systems, Electrical, Environmental, Fire protection, Geotechnical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mining, Nuclear, Petrolium, Sanitation and Traffic.
If you do a search for engineering at wikipedia, they have links to specific types of engineering, and usually will have a link to the 'facuilty' for that engineering type. ("Society of Fire Protection Engineers" for the fire protection engineering link)

First learn to spell engineering ; ) . I'd start with local universities that have good programs. Sometimes they offer summer classes or programs for high school kids.
