Bronchitis may be caused by an unhealthy lifestyle and allergic reactions to chemicals and food. If there is a high level of pollution in your home or local environment then I would see if I could find a way to move to a more healthy environment. Until you can relocate to a less toxic environment, there are several things you can do to reduce mucous and improve your toxin elimination systems.
Drink clean water. Drink 6-8 glasses of distilled water eeach day.
Throw away your table salt and replace it with sea salt. Salt your food with mineral rich sea salt to help with proper elimination.
Avoid dairy and one glass of milk or one slice of cheese contains hundreds of thousands of mucous cells. You want to eliminate mucous creating foods from your diet and milk and other dairy create mucous.
Reduce the amount of pasta and white bread you are eating. Glutens can cause allergic reations in many people that triggers mucous development. Fast from bread or pasta for a week and see if it helps.
Eliminate sugary drinks from your diet as processed sugar plugs up the gut. Get your sugar from fruits. 1 in every four portions of food you eat or drink should be fruit or juiced fruit.
Eat mostly raw vegetables and fruit in your diet. Rinse your vegetables with dilluted apple cider vinegar to eliminate fungus and mold.
You can clean your floor and walls with dilluted white vinegar every few days to reduce mold and fungus that you may be having an allergic reaction to.
If you eat meat, only eat one fist sized portion of meat every day.
I would consider trying a health drink for eliminating mucous and helping with proper elimination: Drink one glass of apple juice with one tablespoon of aple cider vinegar, a dash of turmeric, cinnamon, and cayenne three times a day.
Get 30 minutes of sunshine every day.
I would soak in a hot bath and pour in 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to open your pores.
A positive mental attitudewill help. Forgive any harm done to you by your family or others and forgive yourself.
Moving to a dry climate may help but start with yourself first.
Yah Bless.

One can not really preprare themselves for bronchitis. It is not like having the chicken pox and you can get a shot. There are many different factors that can cause it at any given time or place.

I think you mean to say prevent, not prepare?
A dry climate is better for it - a dry pollution free one.
