I always here how bad this country is from Americans. Can't we accept that no place is perfect and that this is better then most. I am all for improvement but be happy with what you got. Why do Americans hate America so much?

Because some of us feel that we can not get a break no matter how hard we work. We have been here all our lived 30 - 40 years working hard for pennies because Uncle SAM hand keeps going deeper & deeper in our pockets. With the taxes steadly increasing the more we make the more he takes.
The cost of living is high plus WE (electric & gas) is getting over like a fat rat. They get the ok to raise the rate they charge us every few months.

Then we hear that the age of retirement has gone up to 65 (I think). What job can an elder person do, really? Then it takes Social Security forever to give the ok to give the money back that we have worked so hard to put away. Because if you don't work you don't have any social security benefits (thanks to George What Bush)

There are homes & condos are still being build that only the wealthy can afford while the poor get poorer. We are not given a chance 2 prove ourselves. There are jobs that require all these requirements, but when we meet these requirements we are told that we are over qualified. How do you become over qualified?

Of course America soulds good "the land of opportunity" for only the wealthy who keeps getting rich & leagal imigrants, who live her for all these years tax free. While we Americans footin the bill.

Don't think most Americans hate the country, but what our politicians are turning it into. We've taken things like political correctness and made our daily lives a constant "look over my shoulder" to make sure I don't say, do or think about something that might be offesnive to someone else.

We've raised taxes to support politician's pay increases (nine times in the past ten years) but they won't adjust the minimum wage so the average person can live.

We've opened our doors to people from other countries and we provide them with low interest business loans, student loans, medical care, etc. but we can't do the same for people born here.

Many Americans perceive an injustice in the way our government operates and provides for select groups while ignoring others. I think that's what Americans really hate.

I'm not actually from America, but I think the answer lies within the government. I've seen the documentary 'Bowling For Columbine', and it majorly relates to guns laws in America.

As Michael Moore, the film-maker, is also very anti-Bush, I believe he portrays a single sided view on how the government has the "ultimate power" (I believe America is the most powerful nation there is), but doesn't distribute it into society.

He compares the nation to Canada, which is a gun loving nation (but mainly uses firearms for hunting instead of murder), and finds that society is better looked after and that the government is more considering of the welfare of its citizens.

Away from the documentary, but still linking with Michael Moore, is the war in Iraq, and it seems many past wars. The Bush government's refusal to bow down in the Middle East has caused controversy around the world. As I am from Australia, we are also involved, mainly due to "supporting" America, and linking the countries in the event of war. I find that many Americans oppose the war, and seeing the statistics on how many civilians die from, say, a bomb dropped by the US, is devastating. Why is it that a bomb in the UK will generate more news headlines, and may have killed about 30 people, when hundreds are dying in Iraq everyday? Why are there THOUSANDS of people dying in Africa due to poverty and poor health, but the government spends all its funds on weapons and the military, when a terrorist attack is all we worry about these days.

I believe the expression of feelings is getting confused with how Americans hate what is happening to their country. I saw 18 flags flying in front of the houses up and down the street just where I was standing on the sidewalk yesterday (July 4th). Most people I know and observe are fearcely patriotic (OH--that word has bad connotations now) proud to be Americans and love their country and what it stands for. Inasmuch as the corrupt have cancerously multiplied their greedy stuff...it is still the best place on earth to date.

What part of America? South? North? Central? Do you mean the US? If so, the US is great, no complaints here. I don't know what it's like in any of the other American Countries really, Canada was okay, Belieze was awesome, Mexico is pretty good...

Sad to say, but the same freedom we have as Americans give some the right to piss on America. I agree with you in that we have it great, and being a free American, I choose not to give any attention to those who don't know how good they got it!!

YEA!!!!

We don't hate America. We hate what's being done to it. I'm probably the biggest patriot I know, with the possible exception of my roommate. Yet, I hate what's happening to my country and its constitution.
