I have yet to hear an intelligent reason why someone likes or doesn't like him.

All I hear are vague one-liner personal opinions that have no substance to them.

I respect opinions, but please add something to defend it.

Honestly, I believe he rode Daddy's coat-tails to office. Sure, he won a fair vote, but had his father not paved his way as much as he did, does anyone really think he would still be where he is today? The man is obviously no Einstein, or at least he does a good job hiding it. He is also too much of a ruffian for my taste in national leaders. He ignores too many of what I believe to be very reasonable truces. I believe that is what has cost us so many of our allies. The American name (in my opinion) has been tainted under his power.

HOWEVER, there are some things I like about him as well. Unlike his father, he went into Iraq to get the job done right. His father asked many Iraqis to fight with the US against Suddam, then left them to his will as we left with the job half-done. George W. Bush planned, from the beginning, to do it right this time. He could have swept into Iraq and knocked Suddam out of power without the approval of Congress. Instead, he waited. Why? Because he could only deploy troops to Iraq for a short period of time (90 days, I believe it is) without approval from Congress. He waited to be sure that he would actually be able to free the Iraqi people this time. I don't doubt that there was another motivation behind the invasion of Iraq, but at least they now have democracy vs. their previous dictatorship.

Can you give an example of an intelligent reason to like or dislike him?
Personally, I don't like being spied on, lied to, or embarrassed by my leader.
How much detail do I have to include in order to be considered intelligent by your standards? Or can I assume that you know enough about the recent past to connect the dots?
Sorry I'm not usually this mean sounding but the vague wording of the question made it a bit hard not to point it out.
Since you are asking for facts it is again hard to determine what the facts are...everyone hears different things from different media sources. I personally feel embarrassed when the man speaks, he can't give a speech to save his life.
I think the war is killing my friends and family (physically and emotionally) and was very unpopular within the US and abroad...thus instead of listening to his people he is just doing whatever he wants to do. We are not setting a good example of democracy over there...it is a theocracy because at the moment that is the only thing that will work and he knows it. There were no WMDs.
Our economy is unsteady. Education costs are sky rocketing right along with health care. Teachers are not promoting No Child Left Behind so leave it behind.
His little convos w/ god are disturbing...
He has a very bad approval rating and there is a reason:
He is an idiot.
I don't know what kind of facts you were looking for, but make up your own mind about the president and who you will vote for in the future.
Good Luck.

George Bush's administration has brought us a war, high gas prices and a messed up economy. Oh well. He may be a nice person but people don't believe he is a good administrator and he has been elected to be the administrator for the biggest company in the world- the USofA

Because the man and his Vice president shirked their duty during Vietnam.

Neither one of them spent 1 second on a battlefield during that conflict, yet they have the audacity to send others to war.

They were too afraid to be counted among those who actually went into the fight, like McCain and Murtha.

I not only dislike Bush and Cheney, I have no respect for them.

He is breaking our country and $3.00 a gallon for gas is crazy when our country is the only one without national health care yet we spend billions on a senseless war for oil and his big corporate buddies to be comfy. Plus the man can't even give a speech, he is an embarrassment.

HE stands for big business first and hides behind the Christian Right. He has a sketchy past but when it's brought up he refuses to answer questions about it. He questions others morals, but is in complete devoid of them himself. When he came into the presidency the US was experiencing improving relations with the rest of the world, now we as a people are despised in so many corners of the world. he has increased our national debt like it's his favorite past-time. HE always refers to himself as a war-time president even though the only war we are in is one he intentionally created and lied to bring about. He is weak and a puppet for Dick Cheney and his father. I would write more but i have to go to work.

Honestly I just don't trust the guy, not since the questionable election. And his ties with big business. Its not that his Republican its just something about the guy irks me. So this probably wouldn't hold substance to you. But that's why I don't care for Bush.

500,000 kids got sent to Vietnam.
Know who didn't?

Bush, who stayed home and spent the last 6 months of his service working on Red Blount's election campaign.

And Cheney, who got 5 deferrments so other kids could take his place.
Reason enough?
