I am wondering about the culture. I don’t want to sound rude, but it seems like that the German culture always feels more superior. They haven't really been the most sincere after the holocaust, in world events, or even friendly sporting events. What is it about them either knowing it all or they are in charge. Any thoughts?

They hate europeans too...You are missing my point. I don't care what they think about Americans. I am talking about how they interact as a whole. Whats with all the anti-Jewish, anti-Italian, and anti-Russian. Please read my question before posting!

I feel sorry for you that you seem to have made some bad experiences with German people. But you may only know a limited number of Germans, if at all.

If you don't know about German foreign politics, then don't say anything about it. First inform, then complain.

As your question seems to be about German soccer fans, imagine the World Cup was in your country. The media pushes the thought you will win, which is, of course, their right, because they want to be consumed, and they are consumed by Germans. But imagine then that a few months before world cup, only very few Germans believed that the German team will have a chance of winnig. Now imagine it didn't happen.... wouldn't you feel a certain kind of grief?! As a result of grief, everyone reacts in a different way. Some react aggressive, some just go to their bed and cry. I saw a German fan in TV that kissed an Italian fan after they lost.

Most German fans are friendly. Try to get some police statistics about what happened.... almost nothing happened!

Football itself can be very aggressive, racist, but also friendly. That has nothing to do with Germany, think of other countries that hosted the World Cup.

Anyway, have you ever been in Germany? Most people that were in Germany for the World Cup say that they liked the country and that Germans were friendly.

And I just want to figure out that most fans are young and therefore they weren't alive during WW2. They have nothing to do with it. Or think of all those people with Italian, Turquish or Polish background! You you want to say that a German, having e.g. a father from Turkey and a German mother, has anything to do with WW2?

Germany doesn't HAVE, in fact, a culture. They forgot about all, because they don't want the image that everyone has about Germans. And no one feels superior. No one IS superior. If you think in such a cliché, I don't have to wonder why you ask a question like that.

It is you having the problem, not any German. You are thinking in categories.

And to answer your question: Are Germans friendly? Some (most!) are, some are not. Like you find it in every country.

I've just come back from the world cup and I found most of them incredibly nice, and overly apologetic about hitler and the holocaust. However I found alot of them to be extremely racist as if it was no big thing. When I commented to some how I thought the japanese were the best fans their comments were shocking. I tried the same on many random germans and the result was the same in alot of cases. I wouldn't feel right posting what they said but they disgusted me.

some germans are friendly and some aren't. but they're alright people. i used to have a german friend and she was pretty nice to me. so, i don't think most of them are like what you described them to be. their culture is interesting. old and new stuff, you'll see. what i mean, you can find the traditional & new pop culture. they also have nice art. i love the art.

some are, some arent. the older germans are generally very cold, they dont want to have anything to do with foreigners, but the younger generation is the complete opposite! it really depends on where you go and who you interact with. once you get to know them they r the nicest people u'll ever meet!
