First off I will say that there are many wonderful and capable, intelligent young people that we all can be proud of and who may well be great leaders in our society. However, I am scared and saddened by the way the a lot of the young generation of today thinks Most are too liberal in their morals and values. unfortunately, many of them either have never been taught any religion, or they have been caught up in peer pressure and are afraid to make their own choices when it comes to that.
I think the problem really stems from the hippies of the sixties. They are the parents and grandparents of the younger generation of today, and they were part of a drug culture that caused them to become lazy, loose in their morals, apathetic, and godless. That being their lifestyle as young parents passed it on to their kids. Tragically the drug usage was also passed on to their children, in many cases, and that in itself perpetuates the problems of our society. Those who are part of the drug culture are the sector of our society that will ruin our world if they become the rulers.
I have a religious jail ministry in my county and over many years I have interacted with hundreds of inmates, and I can truthfully say that no matter what the reason they were incarcerated, it literally is either directly or indirectly related to drugs. many of the older ones were hippies and most of the younger ones have been caught up in the drug culture to some capacity and most have a distorted concept of life.
Back in 1960 when Nikita Kruschef banged his shoe on the podium and said "We will bury you!", he was referring to the infiltration of drugs onto the college campuses and from there a generation of young adults fell into a trap that easily indoctrinated them into a Marxist atheistic mindset that fostered rebellion against traditional values. That is the mindset that created the "hippy" culture and the proliferation of drugs and their destructive effects on society.
I love all people and particularly all young people although I don't always agree with their philosophy, and I pray for them every day that they will find Truth and peace. With God in charge, and our prayers, we can be sure that everything will end up according to His Will.

Not well at all, I see your generation all over, poor attitude, poor education...which is the real killer...you get your history from movies like Troy, and other movies that are so inaccurate. Some of you can barely read at all, your mostly whinny, expect to get everything you want without working for it...I can go on and on, but that's how I see it. Greedy, Lazy, use the F word like it was a preposition, selfish, uneducated, and vain and self-centered..and won't take responsibility when you screw up....and let's not forget drugs and liquor.

Honestly, I think we'll do a better job than other generations because people are better informed and there seems to be sincere concern, but it's not like this generation will be angels to the environment...unfortunately.

Hey Broadway...I'm 52. I helped balance the budget, save the planet from Global warming, Stop Wars as we knew them, and started a peace movement.
Then young people voted for a Republican leadership, and the budget went out the window, people started saying global warming is a myth, we are in 2 wars and pissing with North Korea and Iran about Nuclear Weapons, and fighting each other on the freeways......I give you personally my piece of the world I tried to save....Do your best, Please.

no, we won't do a good job b/c the youngest of the generations are lazy and dependent on their parents for 98% of their livelihood. our generations are also amazingly ignorant, especially in terms of historical and political aspects of american life. everybody's real quick to blame the "terrorists" and "osama" for something w/o even realizing b/t 97-2001, WE funded and gave them almost all of their ammunition. *sigh* plus, look at who we have as president now. young people had the chance to vote and remove him from office twice now, and have failed to bring it to the table. the nonchalant attitudes of young people will be the death of us all.
