cannevaro is immense , he is probably the best centre half of his generation , i dont like comparing but both read the game superbly ,both were fantastic tacklers and distributors , but the thing for me is cannevaro is only 5,8 but he doesn't get beaten in the air very often

Far better, what did Bobby Moore do except tackle Pele once?
I don't really know if Moore was any good but I'm reminded of the Fantasy Football sketches 'Pele was sh*** he was worse than Jason Lee...' where you saw him blast ball after ball high and wide.
Cannavaro was magnificent against the German's. Surely the finest defender around today, and I love him even more because he can be really cynical when he needs to be.
Britain needs to breed more cynical defenders to be successful, the sort that will chop someone down in an instant, without flinching if they look in the least bit dangerous.

What is italy wthout cannavaro. He is the heart and soul of italy. Without him italy would have been down 3-0.

i think he was fabulous. hes an amazing captain and a great defender. hes my favorite of the italians.
