my venus fly trap doesn't have anytraps to eat any bugs, i cut off the traps because they turn black. now the traps won't grow fully on the other leaves. they keep turning black so i pinch them off. its been 2 months since they had any head to catch anything. is this bad? what should i do? any help? thanks :)

you need poor soil for the traps to grow with nutritious soil the insect protein is not needed add a lot of sand to the soil it grows in this will encourage trap growth of course do the obvious water and sun

DONT PUT IT IN THE SUNLIGHT!IT WILL COOK! also
dont put in derect sunlight.second you dont need water in thier mouths.the soil should be moist at all times.

Well, flytraps use their "traps" to catch insects as a source of nitrogen. Presumably, nitrogen can also be absorbed from the bacteria in the soil so I wouldn't worry too much about it. =)
