Not me
1970 was F A R better. The whole competition was a classic - Brazil v England (Banks save from Pele), England v W Germany (substitution of Charlton costing England the game when 2-0 up), W Germany v Italy (Beckenbauer playing with arm in sling in 4-3 extra time classic) and of course, the classic final!
1974 - good but no comparison to 70

Well cannot really comment on that one LFC****, was 4 at the time

But I would say that Mexico 86 was the best World Cup that I have seen in my lifetime.
But from some of the footage I've seen of 74 it looked like a good Tourny although I think that the Dutch side were robbed in the Final. Most definately one of the best team that never won the World Cup.
For me the GREAT Hungary of Puskas etc were THE best

It was good, but I like 1970 more. There were some classic games, classic goals, classic players, just everything. Brazil's showing in the final may be the best Final Match ever played. Also, the final goal was just beautiful. Several passes strung together, then a ball played into space for their charging captain, who buried the ball low to the far post.

I am not sure. I have seen a lot of the world cups and I think it might be a toss up. 1982, 1974, 1958, and 1998. I think those four were all up there.

Its impossible to compare tournaments since the rules have changed so much; ie tackling, yellow cards. But any of the three world cups held in the 70s would be a contender for best ever.
