I say you are a twit, with no understanding of the world, nor perspective to appreciate what has been going on.

What are you 15? You should listen to others more, and speak less.

What country did the six soldiers die from? We recently had a couple of Canadian soldiers die last month from Afghanistan and I hate it when they say in the news it is a "peace mission"

Its not a peace mission. We are there to kill the Taliban. Period. And yet when someone dies, they say, we are there to liberate the Afgan people. Thats still not a peace mission.

They do seem to be playing around in the desert these days, even setting up a Tim Hortons Donut Shop. I say we if we do pull back, it should be only far enough so that we can drop the big bombs. Carpet bomb the place.

What is up with this site? Read some of the answers here and you have someone called nightsof london who cannot write English, or at least if he can its not making much sense to me.

Then you have people answering a question about Afghanistan by talking about Iraq, and you even have one muppet talking about recent deaths of young men being justified by a Karmic force due to the British Empire which ended 60 years ago!

Mustn't forget the usual space kadets who talk about oil without realising that they wouldn't have a computer to type their crap on if it wasnt for the stuff.

But to answer your question. This is not a peace mission. It is a NATO (not U.S) led operation to secure the most dangerous part of Afghanistan from the Taliban, and their friends Al Queda.

Unlike Iraq, the enemy here do have very direct and proven links to terrorism in our own country. The 7/7 bombers were trained in Al Queda camps in this region, as was the shoe bomber Richard Reid, as were the 9/11 hijackers who killed hundreds of Brits.

The British men who were released from Guantanamo Bay have even admitted to being trained to use weapons in Al Queda / Taliban camps over there.

It is a vital mission and was always going to be very very high risk, but if you have a military force you have to be prepared to use it to protect your national interest and that is what this is.

I am very sorry and very concerned however that we have suffered such loss so quickly and I do fear that once again our negligent government has put our troops in harms way without sufficient back up and equipment to do the job safely.

We do not have enough air support out there, or indeed enough troops, and we are also vistims of the British Armys finest quality which is to take a civilian friendly softly softly patrolling approach, which limits the incidents of conflict with the civilian population but exposes the soldiers to risk.

As for your final part about Iraq, our soldiers are already handing back provinces to the Iraq army as they get strong enough to handle them. To simply cut and run will leave chaos and we owe it to the Iraqi people not to do that to them after all this.

This is not about politics,or about to save the world, they have the reason and the right of making of their countries what they want, why USA can have weapons and UK and not the other countries, who has the power then to say what it is good or bad, to impose democracy because "we know" is the best system, why they can not decide by themselves, Do they have the obligation of eat in MC Donald's and drink Coke?, which police of the world is this, which moral of the USA after Guantanamo... by the way, Cuban place invaded, by the way country economically blocked for cause of human rights...THIS POLICE IS A JOKE... Is this the country who killed Che Guevara... the same Who killed his own president Kennedy... the same that is judging Sad am for killing 149 people... While they had caused 150 000 in Irak... IS THIS A JOKE???, really, how can people can back up this craziness???

USA should stay in his territory and not put the nose in every single place of the world, just to steal and make people miserable... all is obvious for oil, markets and power.

Only six? You were never in the Military I see. There are more soldiers killed in boot camp from accidents in the same time frame than that. Do you know what % that is? DO you know how many troops we have there? More people die from eating cheeseburgers in Los Angeles than that. What is your point? I do not like to see anyone die, but quit freaking out with the numbers until you research it more and compare it to other wars ect. People like you complain of six deaths when you do not realize how many deaths other countries entail from dictators in such a short time

I say stop tying the hands of the soldiers that are sent out to these places. Cry Havoc and let loose the dogs. Anyway it was never a Peace mission not when there are so many Terrorists still alive. Let them stay. But let them get on with the job. that they know how to do.

Ok i agree with snowy on this one and can i just say to some of you WHEN are you gonna remember 9/11, 7/7, Spain, Bali, Turkey ect?
Will it take yet another attack on our freedom for you to realise that THEY won't stop attacking our society's if we pull out? and even if we did, when they attack us again, what then do you think we should do? Go back in? and will you PLEASE remember that every soldier from the allied forces who has died out there, has done so in fighting for our freedom....if we pull out now, it will mean they died for nothing....

bush is a butcher no one likes him, If I was president they would have come home a long time ago. He likes to see his people dead, so he can make us miserable, but we got only 2 more years until that bum is out and freedom again at last, who knows what will happen next.
