In 2003, Chen Jianmin of Luzhou City, China went 49 days like that.
This year, I am planning to smash that record by going well beyond 49 days.
HA! I SPIT on 49 measley days.
I'm going for a full decade!
That's right. TEN years... NO food... just WATER and AIR.
They say you gotta eat? I don't have to do anything I don't want to!

about three weeks with no food.

Incidentally, the record for someone going without food AND water was 18 days, in the case of a dutch guy who was put in a cell in a police station and then forgotten about for two and a half weeks. He was near death when they found him, but made a full recovery. He had not committed a crime, but was involved in a traffic accident.

I worked in a nursing home, and Alzheimers patients will often stop eating when the disease prgoresses that far. I have seen skinny people go in a few days and fatter people last a few weeks - the most was about six weeks that I can remember. Why?

I beg to differ, but it is 4/4/40.
That means 4 minutes without air, 4 days without water, and 40 days without food. However, what is average?? And since these numbers are averages, all of them will not apply to everyone.

An avg healthy male can go 40 days without food. I have known several people who have done this for spiritual reasons. Always check with Dr. first and do research.
