I mean got sacked.
How far is Tony Blair going to keep
protecting his MP'S, in the end they
always end up getting sacked any way.
Or is Tony trying to hold on to them for
his own backing one day.

Yes, I think that John Prescott has overstayed his welcome in government and has passed his political "sell-by-date".
Originally from "old Labour" and a real asset, he got carried away and corrupted by the good life at the top.

The reason for Tony Blair to hold on to him is pure selfishness. Since Blair is also on the way out, he does not want to spent the last few months of his premiership with a contest for the deputy leadership of the party.

Overall Blair has done a lot more damage to the world, to Britain and to the Labour Party than Prescott. But being a lot less sophisticated than Blair, Prescott's mistakes look to the public larger than they really are. Prescott is also a long-standing hate figure for the Tory media, who will take every opportunity to make him look bad, foolish and incompetent.

My advice would be for both Blair and Prescott to realise their current position (being damaged goods) and retire with dignity, as long as there is time for it.

I think John Prescott has pushed his luck way too far this time, and Yes he should be sacked without a doubt, the fat gutted git, nicknamed the 2 Jags, there is us who work hard for a living, and there is guys like him who used to have his own office before he got that taken away from the first scandal, he get's to go all over the World to conference's or should say at the tax payer's expense to have a good feed up etc, so Yes get rid of him now, he makes me sick John Prescott!

Absolutely. He has already cheated and lied to his wife and the country for two years so who is surprised at this latest development. Who can trust anything he says now. It is time he went. If Tony Blair is relying on the likes of the Deputy Prime Minister to stay in power then it is time he too went.
