Most fire departments will fill a pool for you, for a fee... in our area, it runs about $50 to $100 depending on the size of the pool

Typically you can get the fire department o fill your pool. You rent a hydrant meter, the FD hooks it up, runs the water to fill the pool, removes everything for you then you are billed for the metered amount of water you use.

But this was how they did it years ago I dont know if this is still the way.

Check for poolwater delivery. Do you have a well? We are filling our above ground directly from the tap.....city water. I have a friend with a well and she simply does one hour on, one half hour off....that is if you have never had water issues. With all the rain recently I think the water table is pretty high though. It can be pretty pricey to buy water----we had one of those blow up ring pools and it cost us $150 to have it delivered because we were afraid of burning our pump.

I wouldn't pay again;

I know that some fuel companies have a pool filling service up here in NH. You could try that.

Go to the Yellow Pages and look up "Water" or "Pool water". There will be people listed who do exactly what you need.
