Ours was SPECTACULARLY BOOMING!!! We dressed up and went out for dinner... We live in Oahu, Hawaii... so.. we caught the fireworks at Schofield Barracks Army Post... then we saw the Pearl Harbor fireworks as we drove to Hickam Airforce Base for their fireworks show (we sat on the hood of the car for that one) They were firing them from 50ft away and my son kept looking back cause the boom felt like it was coming from behind us... so, then, on our way to the Marine Corps base in Kaneohe for their late show, we caught the fireworks off Honolulu... It was great cause we drove in a convertible. So,that's five shows... but we saw plenty more in between drives... It was the first time my son had seen fireworks and the look and smile on his face was so beautiful and captured the exact reason that I am proud that my husband is a soldier and also why I decided to become an American citizen. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mexico, but I also love America just as much!!! On our way home we turned on the radio, which was playing patriotic songs all night long!!! To top it off, we stayed up til midnight to watch the "Star Spangled Banner" play on TV before the channels go off air. It was the best night we had together as a family... since my husband is redeploying to Iraq in a few weeks... we won't get to do this for another 2 years... My son loves him and always recognizes him cause he's always in uniform. When we go on post, he calls every soldier "Da-Da" cause they all wear the same uniform... he gets confused. It's so cute... I hope when he growsup he can be proud of his Dad and be as patriotic as we are so that he can pass his love of freedom to our and his grandchildren...

Where I live fireworks are illegial, and the city does not put on a show due to lack of funds. But everyone it seems does their own shows on the beaches with fireworks that were bought in Mexico (the kind that go into the air are illegal in all of California). So the coast is one giant, all night show. It is just insane because there are these constant explosions everywhere. And the cops just stand there are watch.

I live in a small Kansas town of 120 people, about 60 of the people get together and have firework displays on Main Street..
This year though, there were about 80 ,due to word of mouth , this has to be the biggest in two years.

What was interesting was that we were going to drive awhile and go see the usual downtown show, decided not to, then we were going to go up the block, decided not to, then when it got dark there were like ten houses around us shooting off fireworks.

We went in our back yard. That was all the further we had to go!
