Ferrets are diggers. They LOVE to dig up carpet and linolium, claw into wood, and get into furniture. They need constant love and attention, not just whenever you feel like playing with them. They need a strick diet because they have sensitive stomachs and die easily. They have a gland that makes them smelly, so you need to get it removed. Costs a lot of money.
If you cannot give your ferret the attention it deserves, you shouldn't have one. I'd say your mom is trying to make sure you really want it, and this isn't a phase. If you still want it in 3 months, and you can show your mom that you have studied about ferrets and you can prove that you understand the needs of a ferret, maybe she'll be impressed enough to get you a ferret.

First you need to find out WHY she said three months.
If she can't afford to get one right now, and wants the three months to save up money, you can offer to help by getting a job yourself.
If there's someone in the house with pet allergies and she's waiting for them to go away to school, then there's not much you can do.
If she thinks that wanting a ferret is just a "fad" and thinks that 3 months will make you forget you wanted it, then you can show her how enthused you are by getting everything ready. Get a cage for it, read up on what they eat, if they need special exercize or bedding material, etc. Get everything ready so all she needs to do is get the ferret and drop it into what you've set up and everything's done.

I dont know. There must be a reason she wants to wait 3 months. Find out what it is, then see what to do.
I have two ferrets myself and absolutely Love them! They are so sweet but get into Everything! They are a lot of work, but if you are up to the challenge then they are great! Hope it works out
