I'm trying to get my website on search engines, someone told me about meta statements but Im unfamiliar in using them. How can I do this and where do you put them? And is there any other free way of listing your website on search engines?

They aren't meta statements. They're called meta tags. They can be written in HTML (which, if you're asking this question, you can't do.) They can also be inserted in the page properties of most HTML editors like Microsoft FrontPage. Go to the help section of whatever software you're using to create/edit your page and search for meta tags.

you place them in the header doing something like-

seperate each keyword with a ;
but that really isnt that helpfull you need to submit your site to directorys, just search google for directories and submit your site

----please take a second and vote for this post as a helpfull one, thanks
