I know that Jake Plummer is no Peyton Manning but why do so many people hate the guy? I have a feeling that I will regret this question considering I am a Jake Plummer fan.

Jake is a good QB, he's just inconsistent. Previous to last year, he threw lots of interceptions, he's more disciplined now, and as long as he stays that way, then he should be better and better. The thing with Jake is to be disciplined and keep his personal life away from the field.

The real question is can Jake come through in the clutch? Denver really had a golden opportunity last year to get to the Super Bowl, they had the game at home, but Pittsburgh was just too much....and then again in that game, Plummer made a couple of ill-advised passed that doomed the Broncos chances.

He has a huge winning record as Denver starting QB, one of the best winning percentages of any QB the last 3 years. However the knock on him has been his key mistakes at key times. Can Denver win the SB with Jake as their QB? I think so but if they do it will be more because of things Jake doesn't do as the things he does. Remember there have been several winning SB teams with QBs much less talented than Jake Plummer (i.e. Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams, Phil Sims...to name a few)

You can't knock him too much as he led the Broncos to the playoffs! He is a competitor that wants to win. Remember that the Steelers quarterback had a terrible game the year before in the playoffs vs the Patriots. Jake better watch it though as that rookie from Vandy Jay Cutler sure does look like the future quarterback!

Plummer is a good back-up. He just doesn't have the talent to lead a team..he's too small and he's doesn't have the winning edge

Probably cause he is inconsistent. He's good enough to get you to the playoffs, but once you're there nobody is really afraid of him. Although that sentence could also pertain to Manning. Go Tom Brady!!!
