Okay, I've taken my other half to San Francisco... Miami/South Beach... Mexico... Central America. We've seen all the cliche American destinations... just about... and need ideas for our next big trip.
I am running out of "fun" GLBT-friendly places to go. I understand that we can go to Europe or South America, and I will probably take him to both places eventually, but airfare right now is so expensive that I just cannot justify the expense at the moment.
We obviously like places with a "gay scene," although that is not nearly as important as overall atmosphere and other attractions.
I would just like a place that we can spend a week and relax, but still have a good time and maybe go out and party one night.
Does anyone have any good ideas about where I can take him? Has anyone had experience with gay cruises

We really like cities as opposed to country/mountain/rural places, by the way. Beachfront is not really important.... we just want to be in a decent-sized city or directly adjacent to one.

New Orleans has a very good gay scene. There is an entire section of the French Quarter that is dedicated to the gay scene. Also, the Souther Decadence Festival is a really big party down here. If you get the chance to, you should check it out.

I usually go on gay.com, click on chat, click on whos online. It has a map of the world and cities listed with the number of gays chatting in each city. Chat in a room with one of the locations that have a large number of people. You can get some excellent advise on venue and places to stay. You can also get a good idea of how friendly the local gays are by chatting.
I found Jersey City and San Diego that way. Two places I would not have guessed were way gay and very friendly.
You can also try gaybars.com and look for a city with alot of bars, but you dont get a flavor for the local wildlife sans the chat.

You mentioned Miami/South Beach. What about Key West? That is my favorite spot. Tampa/St. Pete, Florida are also good places that are very gay friendly. Atlanta, GA also. With the exception of Key West, these are not exactly exotic, but good gay-friendly places with lots to do.

My gf and I went to Vancouver BC and loved it! The city can entertain you with it's museums, shops, food and clubs/bars at night. 10 minutes away you have the mountains - hiking, biking, views, etc. Very beautiful. Beaches and parks are sooo pretty and Canada is very gay friendly! Have fun!

Cancun is an concepts-blowing beginning factor...that is like a postcard and almost all of us speaks a minimal of slightly english. table team and each and each and every of the merchants communicate it fluently. the draw back is that Cancun is truly touristy! To get an same sea coast, english and proximity to buying and evening-existence, attempt Playa del Carmen. that is south of Cancun and slightly extra distant, even if it isn't that way for lengthy, bypass even as you could earlier each and each and every of the tremendous chain inns take over!!
