i was downloading a trial for a game i was thinking about getting and then when the game was done downloading, it was gone. not the online toolbar, the one on the bottom of the screen that shows the minimized windows. i've tried the window button on the keyboard and seeing if it was minimized. what else coul've happened and how can i fix it?

i tried the Ctrl+Esc but that just showed me the start menu

Thanks to all who answered, but my problem is solved. I shut down the computer then turned it back on again. i had already tried to restart and logout of the computer. if you wish you may answer something helpful or maybe not for the points because it won't allow me to pick a best answer (who i have choosen already!)

1. It's possible that you unintentionally did a "drag and drop" that put your toolbar somewhere else. It can be located (and hidden) at the bottom, top or sides of your screen. Try moving your mouse to the top and each side to see if the toolbar re-appears.
2. It's possible that the game reset your screen resolution in a way that made your task bar disappear, because it's out of the viewing range of your monitor. Reboot your computer in safe mode and reset the display settings under control panel.
3. Any number of other things could have caused the problem. Rebooting in safe mode and resetting the display settings as above should be able to solve most of them.

It is hard to tell without knowing moro info, try Holding the Ctrl button down and hitting Esc that should bring up the program list and from there you should be able to see the toolbar.

its actually called a "taskbar" but thats okay. Anyway right click on the task bar and choose "properties" then uncheck the box that says "autohide the taskbar"

look on the top of window explorer press buton view ther will be the option for tool bar
select which tool bar you require
thats it

It is most likely a trojan, try rsetarting try AVG antivirus and try scrolling to the very bottom of your screen and right clicking.
