50's...I was born!!!! Great music, great cars, great clothes.
60's...I got my driver's license & began to date! We had a great president...Kennedy. Music was getting better and society was changing and becoming more open minded.
70's...I graduated high school, got a great job, got married, had a blast doing the disco thing...clothes were awesome and the music still is awesome today.
80's...I was promoted in my job twice, I became a homeowner. Music was still great...so were the clothes.
90's...I was promoted on my job again, bought a second home for rental property...life was easier and we were more financially secure. Music was so/so...some good some not so good. Clothes went the same way.

1960s~Literary greats such as Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird", writings by women of color such as Gwendolyn Brooks and Maya Angelou; during the 60s, college campuses became centers of debate and scenes of protest, the publication of "Equality of Educational Opportunity" by James Coleman which led the way to forced integration and busing in the 70s; Civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King and Stokely Carmichael, the Hippie movement reigned, promoting drugs, rock music, mystic religions and sexual freedom....soooo many things in the 60s and don't forget about Woodstock.

1970s~The poetry of Rod McKuen was incredibly popular. The fashion influences of the 60s such as bellbottom pants, hip huggers, platform shoes, etc. were the popular fashion statements of the day; the floppy disc appeared and Intel introduced the microprocessor; Apollo 17 was the last manned craft to the moon; 1970 was the first Earth Day, 4 students were killed at Kent State by National Guardsmen.

1980s~Space shuttle Challenger exploded in 1974; Wayne Williams was arrested in Atlanta for the murders of 23 black children; the Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated with 57, 939 names of American soldiers killed or missing in Vietnam; Cable tv was born and thus MTV had an enormous impact on music.

1990s~Reading entire books online became available; Sadam Husein's invasion of Kuwait and the resultant Gulf War took place; the Rodney King incident took place in 1992; a bomb was detonated beneath the World Trade Center; the OJ Simpson trial; the Oklahoma bombing; the "Americans With Disabilities Act" became effective; the "Don't ask, Don't tell" law was introduced;

90: good tv shows, less problems in the world than now
