Secondly, that speech was obviously just to pacify people that rising crude oil costs will not remain forever, as his administration hopes...pointless...I know....to point out.

It's one of the ladder of the best alternative energy possibilities....many use their time to spread myths about what is feasable and what is not...if you "dig", you will find an agenda...usually involing (if not always) money, and/or power....

I think he has talked about that before. But perhaps his researchers decided that bio deisel technology something he should focus on in his speech. Maybe because it isn't as far along as ethanol, or it wasn't seen as a viable alternative to oil. I don't know for sure, just guessing.
