How do I access a server from a different computer? This is for my work. I have two stores and sometimes need to do stuff there, but I am not there. I want to be able to access that server from my home computer so I can finish my work for the day and check up on my employees.

gotomypc does work, simply and well, but it does cost money. A free solution is to use remote desktop connection in XP (you will need the IP address of the remote computers, username/password, etc.
For a secure connection you can set up a VPN (virtual private network). Assuming the computer you're trying to access has a static IP you can go to network connections/new connection wizard then follow the prompts to establish a VPN connection.

You are going to need the ip address to those computers, also..I'm sure you have the user name and password.
