This car isn't for sale yet but should be by 2009. It gets 150+ miles to the gallon.

Other than that the Honda insight is the best at 63mpg and hondas do tend to last for ever even if they do suck. Compare Hybrids here.

TOYOTA Corolla, Echo or Pirus!! Honda Civic. Geo/Chevy Prizim is a good bet also. All have great reliabilty, resale and saves money at the pump.

ive heard great things about honda. if you want a real easy car on gas than go for a sprint metro
