I have had the same experience. I guess most people just want to have fun instead of thinking about and composing serious answers.

The way I answer depends on the tone the question. I think serious questions deserve serious answers and silly questions deserve silly answers, most of the time, unless the person seems like someone who is misguided and needs to be steered in the right direction.

probably people are going for the easy two points by answering something silly rather than taking time to give a serious answer. Sorry, that sucks! Keep trying and hopefully you will get some answers along the line of what you are looking for.

The "masses" are not known for their intelligence. School systems have failed, people don't read much, most would rather spend little time thinking but much time speaking or letting their ignorance "shine-through" in their answers. Let's face it, it is hard to find intelligent people with whom one can have a uniquely intelligent conversation. Most people are much more interested in what Paris Hilton did last night than thinking about giving others an intelligent, thoughtful answer.

Unfortunately, so many people here are just passing time b'coz they have nothing else to do. When means of knowledge is taken so lightly then this is bound to happen. But there are people around who has lots of solid information to share and they are willing to give it free of cost my dear.
