You should be able to call the newspaper for the town that the person was living in when they passed away. Once you call the right newspaper ask them how you go about accessing their archives for the obituary of a specific person from 2003. They should be able to tell you whether that information is available online or if you have to go to the library to search through their past issues. If you know a family member personally, you might be able to ask which funeral home took care of the arrangements and most times if you contact that funeral home they can also point you in the right direction to look for the information that you are seeking.

Here are a few options:
*Contact the funeral home, they usually help the family create the obituary and sometimes keep a copy on file.
*Contact the local newspaper, they can usually send you a copy of the newspaper in which the obituary was published or help you find it in their archives on their website.
*The attached sites might be able to help you find the information:

You can always go to the local library or any library for that matter and look up the archives of the local newspaper where the obituary was published.
