Well, if your 5 month old is a boy, he is just prepping himself to become a man ;-)
I wouldn't worry, my son is 15 months and he has done this since birth. My son even sweats while he eats and his little sneakers already smell. If they have a athletes foot for baby, buy stock now.

My daughter did that all the time. She still does and she is 2 years old. It is just the way some babies are. Don't fret too much about it. My daughter has never run a fever, even when she has been sick or had severe ear infections, but she can't seem to stay "sweat free" during sleep. You can talk to your doctor, but I bet there is nothing wrong. He's just normal.

I had a sweaty baby too, he grew up just fine. He still has sweaty feet and has to use powders and sprays to keep the "fungus" down. I do not what to scare you but I head it can be symptoms of other things also, You need to talk to your doctor just to make sure. Here is a web site that might help in the mean time: www.babycenter.com/refcap/baby/babysleep

My daughter is 19 months old and she is just like this, we can't leave the house without her being soaked in sweat, living in Texas, it is hard for her. She sweats at night, so i keep a fan next to her bed and she sleeps under only a sheet, i put a blanket there just in case she gets cold, but she hasn't needed it yet! I asked the doctor, but she says she is just hot natured. In the winter, she hates to wear a coat, and absolutely loves to go outside, she gets soo excited, but in summer she doesn't like being outdoors at all especially in the daytime. We just have to be careful about plans since her older sister loves outdoors, so i have to make sure my husband is around to be with her for outdoors stuff! If you are really worried, ask the pediatrician the next time you go in. No question is stupid, when it concerns your child's health. Ask them, that is what they went to school for! :)

I agree it doesn't sound like a problem. I would not make a special visit to the dr. for this. My son is the same way, even in the winter. I can not out him in pj's because he sweats so bad at night.

My daughter does the same thing, but so does my husband. I just think that some people have different body temps and activity of their sweat glands. It's nothing, but if you will feel better, speak to your doctor.

mine is a natural sweater too. its just a natural process of the body trying to get rid of unneeded salt and heat. in this time of year, dont think anything of it. his head also gets clammy. its no big. unless you think its an actualy feaver and take him to the hospital. but mine is going through that as well, and i see nothing wrong yet :). not untill the heat wave passes.

Just mention it at his six month visit. Does not sound like anything really to worry about. Babies have a hard time controlling their temperature at this age.

My daugther is always extremely hot in her feet and her head. Our doctors said don't worry about it as long as they aren't crying or showing signs of discomfort

Some babies will get slight fevers when teething, if you are still concerned after the teeth have come in, call your doctor.
