My question is that I want to become a sex education teacher, speaker, tutor, whatever you wanna call it. How do I get a certificate, a degree, or anything of that sort that will qualify me to do so for children in grades 7-12?

you should start at a community college and take courses that are specified for sex-education...usually it's development and early life classes.. some child development classes and then the course teacher will tell you what is needed as requirements as a way of getting certified to be a sex-education teacher...

I teach Adolescence for Grade 9 at my high school . I am an english teacher. I have some university courses done in Sociology, Psychology, etc...no other teacher wanted to teach the course, but I jumped at the chance. It is an awesome course with loads of discussion. There is one unit is on human sexuality, and it is a joy to teach. (I teach in Canada). Not sure what training you would need to just be a Sex Educator...good luck.

This type of certificate comes under the aegis of Health Education. Check with the State Department of Education where you want to teach to see what they require for you to be certified in that state.

Good Luck!!

I think you just need to get a degree in education. When you have that, you can teach whatever you want.
Although, the way things are going, if the Republicans stick around, you won't be able to teach sex education! You'll have to tell kids that they don't, in fact, posses sexual organs!
