are they any good? a friend from uk recommends this band to me....., is it a pop rock band?

I only know of one song from them...Bohemian Like You. It's pretty good. Can't say for the rest of their music, though, as I haven't heard it. You could go to amazon.com or Y! Music to listen to some of their songs.

Their genre of music is considered alternative rock, but they are related to power pop. They were influenced by Velvet Underground and Rolling stones; some similar artists include They Might Be Giants and Pulp.
