It is always the suffix or ending of the noun that makes it either masculine, feminine or neuter. I taught myself Koine Greek (the language af the original writings of the New Testament)...and it there that I learned this rule which, strange as it may be, almost always applies to our native English tongue as well. The word "Lobster" could be either masculine OR neuter...but certainly not feminine. The feminine rendering for "lobster" would be "lobsterette", and the true neuter, "lobsteron". Believe it or not, most English prefixes and suffixes originate from either the Greek or Latin tongues...but far more often from the Greek. Take our word "stadium" for example: it comes from the Greek Σταδιος, (stadios)...and it's even apparent in the Greek lettering, as you can see...or should see. Lobster (M); Lobsteron (N) and Loberette (F)...for English renderings of this noun.

Seriously, there isn't a name for them. If you are really interested in lobsters, check out a book called "The Secret Life of Lobsters" by Trevor Corson
