I'm looking for some seasoned gardeners with experience in the okra field. I have 2 rows about 10 feet long that I currently have okra in. I use the okra to pickle once it comes in. This is my first year growing okra and i"m looking for any suggestions or hits on how to make this years crop successful. Also how late in the summer can I plant okra?

If you have two 10ft rows of okra you better go buy some canning jars. Okra does real good in a sunny spot, I wouldnt fertalize and only water if it gets real dry.Sliced Okra covered in crushed Ritz crackers then fried will blow your mind, mmmmm good.

If you figure it out, let the rest of us know because my sister is having a time and a half trying to grow okra.

I planted mine in late May, and now the things are producing faster than I can find uses for them. I always plant them in Potting soil (Scott's is great) when I put the seeds in the ground, and they're up and growing within about 10 days...just a suggestion. Given how fast they grow and produce, I'll bet you could plant them throughout July...but really, it depends upon where in the country you are. I'm in Texas, so I could probably plant in August...if you're up north, then July might be the limit.

Good luck!

how late depends on where you live, when the temperature drops, how much sun you get.

there are places in California where you could probably grow okra year round.

The growing zone or state are you in will determine your growing season for okra.
