sounds like a 9 year old. That's all she needs to worry about-just having fun. what ever she decides now will be different in 9 years. After puberty will be a whole new ball game. And during those years is like opening a new can of worms. What ever you want will probably be different than she wants. Around 16 is the time to ask this question. I realize she may be anxious but she will change her mind. The best thing to do is keep that open but concentrate on being ready for anything. keep up those grades and try being ahead without getting burnout.

My daughter is 9 as well, and seems to share the same interests as your daughter. She wants to be a singer like Beyonce' or Brittney Spears. They will probably both grow up and choose professions where they can showcase their talents, and be social butterflies at the same time. So with that said, it's a cross between Doctor and Lawyer, but no need to stress about it too much Mom, she has plenty of time to decide, and change her mind, and decide, and well You get my point.

The girl is only 9. I changed my mind with the seasons when I was that age & continued to change it up until I finally hit upon something in my early 20's. I guess what I'm trying to say is to not worry about it. She'll decide when the time is right & she's found what she really wants to do.

there's a whole lot of years ahead for her to discover what she wants to be. i say to develop and support the things that she already likes and master it. thats the key, something that she can call her own and be her signature, her passion. and also to try out new things,
even if it doesnt seem that interesting, if only for experience's sake. that way she can say, i tried it and i did not like it. or it could be a pleasant surprise if she does like it.
whats important is that she has your love and support and encouragement in everything that she tries to do.
good luck to her and i really hope she finds something that she really loves to do.

Well, come on she is barely 9 years old. Let her take her time to decide what she wants to be. But if you want my suggestion, then a medical career is not such a bad idea.

She can be a ballerina, a singer, a poet, an author, an artist, a musician (such as pianist, violinist, etc.), a hair stylist, a chef, a zoo keeper, or a seamstress. I hope you both like my ideas!

Listening to music isn't as marketable as making music.
Reading isn't generally as marketable as writing.
Watching TV and playing computer games isn't as marketable as making TV shows and producing game software.

MAN! Let her grow up. Isn't 9 a little too young to be worrying about what she wants to do when she grows up. Man, give her a break!
