Not yellow. I live in a small apt. Want to make it look larger. Right now it is taupe and the cupboards are white which is quite bland.

My kitchen is white with one cobalt blue wall where my range is. The white really brightens up the space and makes it feel larger than it is. The dark blue gives a little color and excitement to the room.

If you don't like blue, pick a fun color that you like and pick one wall to put it on. Leave the other walls white or another very light color.

What I did was paint all walls trim whatever stark white and then just the doors to the cupboards I painted a warm deep blue
I was amazed at the difference. The white reflects the light giving the appearance of a larger room but the blue kept the kitchen cozy.

I'm in the same delimma. I am removing two layers of old wall paper, which is taking me forever. I am considering painting the room white because the counter and cabinets are sort of dark. I feel the white would brighten up the room. In addition, I am planning on introducing some red via changing the handles on the cabinets and painting a desk in the room a burgundy/red. Being that your cabinets are white, you can do anything. How about painting 3 walls white and 1 wall a deep purple. This would keep the room bright as well as give it some character. You can use dark purple for your linens/placemats.

Clay pot is a wonderful color it's very rich and warm, paint your ceiling a lighter color like a light tan and you will love it!! Depending on what type of cupboards you have they too can be accented with the wall color. Make sure you use egg shell paint, it's easy to clean and also makes the color richer.

Well I guess i all depends on if the sun shines in there.. where the sun may or may not shine in there... what accent colours you have going on etc etc... personally I think yellow is perfect... if the sun shines in on it it makes it bright, warm welcoming... if the sun doesnt... it can still make it cozy... homelike... country even.... you accent with many colours to make it what you will.. adding some green will make it classic country, some white will make it bright and other colours can make it anythin you want.... try different things...

What about a off-white or light brown/beige ? What ever color you choose, I suggest something with a shine like satin or semi-gloss. This is so you can clean it. If you use a flat paint, it will dull with cleaning. I worked Home Depot paint dept for 5 years.Good-luck

Red (and if you have a border paint it white) and just put a fresh coat of white paint over the cupboard.

I painted mine a pale peach. Low key so it borders white. The light color not only makes the room appear open & large but the color seems to make others relaxed & comfortable while in there.

I think a lite blue would be beautiful with the white... or red could really spicy it up! :-) I love color! You just want to stay away from the dark purples and things. Good LUCK! :-)

I was going to recommend a butter or lemon yellow; how about a nice pistachio green?
