I'm leaving the US in 6 and 1/2 weeks to Costa Rica.

I can either A) buy a new one for $97 + $7 photos

Or B) just keep looking and pray I find it

Sorry, the question to you all is WHAT SHOULD I DO? I don't want to fork over $100 I desperately need, but I would need to make my decision like NOW

You guys are right. I should get that new one just so I can quit worrying already! But that other girl's right too! LOL I know I'll find it when I buy a new one. Thats my luck. But better safe than sorry, right?

So, listen to this...

I was on the phone with my mom just now all depressed about my passport. I asked her if I should just pay the $150 fee for the expidited one. We were talking about it all sad, then she goes:
"I wish you could just be led to it"

I had an overwhelming feeling to turn around, and open this wooden box of mine. I had looked there previously but hasn't looked in the box of cds. Well, this time, the first place my hand went to was to the cds. I reached right there and my passport was in my hands!!

I started screaming and she thought I was hurt or something. I had found my passport!!! Wow... the angels sure whispered in her ear to tell me that and pushed my body to the box!

That was really cool. I had started a novena to St.Anthony to find it and she said to continue it in devotion.

:)!!! Esperanza

I'm SO HAPPY for you that you found your passport!!! You were definitely led there by angels who prefer you spend your money elsewhere. But I also wanted to thank you for your answer to my question about the Spanish school. I will look into it...I'm also looking at a school in Honduras...but maybe see you in Costa Rica!

How long does it take to get a new passport issued? That's really what you need to ask yourself. Because if you've got time to look for the lost one, then keep looking. If you don't have time to play around with, then you'd better get off your duff and get the new one. And rest assured, as soon as you have the new one in your hand, the old one WILL turn up!

I would get a new one. They won't let you leave the country without one (or back in) so if you don't find your passport in the next 10-15 days you will be out of luck.

If that $100 is truly vital to your well-being and living costs for your trip to Costa Rica, perhaps going there should have been reconsidered.

Better to replace it and find the old one later than to not buy a new one and not find the old one.

It's not worth the risk of missing out on your trip - go ahead and replace it.
