I mean, it was entertaining, but it SUCKED. I expected a much better Lex Luther out of Kevin Spacey. The plot kinda sucked too.

well it was bad, yes but please try to find some other word than sucked for everything you dislike. that word is overused and worn out.
the movie lacked a good story and the characters were wooden and stilted. It was too derivative of former efforts and showed no imagination. The child actor was appallingly insipid. The special effects were ho-hum. I can wait a long time for the sequel.

i didn't enjoy that much. i agree it was (at parts) entertaining, but nothing even remotely close to batman begins, x-men, or spiderman. i never liked the idea of spacey anyway. i like him as an actor but i wanted an unknown as lex, and maybe even lois. definitley not Bosworth. she is NOT lois lane. the plot was the worst part. many praise it for a strong story, and maybe if it was about some new superhero it would work fine, but superman? it just didn't seem like a superman story at all. it was too ambitious and overconfident. i mean placing a boy as superman who looks nothing like the big S, in the same movie with extremely popular kevin spacey, and not giving it a superhero story? it tries too much and didn't succeed at half of it. there also was not enough action. i like story to mesh well with the action or vice versa, but you cannot tell an emotional superman story in a HUGE summer movie without complementing it with the action that is so well represented in the comic books. take spiderman 2 for example, it boasted an unexpected emotional story but still kept you excited with an interesting villain and good action sequences. batman begins is another good example.

Are you kidding? It was great! If you compare Superman to a future Spiderman sequel with different actors, how will it compare? Considering everyone's deep-rooted feelings about Christopher Reeve being Superman, I thought Brandon Routh et al. did a remarkable job. Especially Brian Singer and the writers.

I was very disappointed as well. With all the wonderful reviews the movie got I was expecting to see one of the best Superman movies yet.....boy was I let down!!!! Although the movie did have some good action scenes, the plot was very weak......I think for now on I'll just stick to Smallville....

Oh my gosh...it was terrible. I kept checking my watch every 20 minutes to see if was even close to being over. 2 hours and 50 minutes?! And for those who hadn't seen the other Superman movies, the beginning would have been so confusing.

I agree it was not what I expected at all. I expected the movie to revamp the series like Batman Begins. Not a dismal homage to the earlier films.
